Responsible AI Should Increase Human Agency
The best use of intelligence is to help people see more clearly, choose more consciously, and act with greater responsibility.
Technology adds value when it strengthens human judgment instead of quietly replacing it. A responsible AI system should explain its limits, protect private information, and leave meaningful decisions in human hands.
Before using AI, define the human outcome. Are we helping someone learn, create, remember, plan, communicate, or solve a real problem? Then design the tool around dignity, consent, clarity, and practical usefulness.
Efficiency matters, but agency matters more. The person should leave the interaction more capable than when they entered it.
