A practical preview

A risk budget is a limit, not a forecast

Hypothetical example: a €5,000 practice account with a chosen 0.5% risk budget has a €25 maximum planned loss. This example is arithmetic, not a recommended risk level or a current gold quote.

Convert the stop distance and contract specifications into account-currency loss, include estimated costs and round down to a valid lot step. If the minimum trade size exceeds the chosen budget, the appropriate result is no trade.

A stop order does not guarantee the planned exit price. Slippage, gaps and changing costs can produce a larger loss. A calculator cannot establish that a strategy has an edge.
